Pine Kitchens: Frequently Asked Questions & Information.
Q: “How do I get a quote?”
A: You can either send us an email, give us a call or book an appointment to pop down and see us. We can then offer a free, no obligation quote.
Q: “How do I place an order?”
A: You can either order online through the website if you want to pay up front in full, or you can request an invoice by email and pay over the phone or by bank transfer - you can split your payment this way into a 50% deposit and the remaining 50% can be paid once the order is complete before delivery or collection.
Q: “How do I access the 50% deposit scheme?”
A: Just send us an email with the list of cabinets you are looking for, provide us with your delivery address and let us know which range you have chosen and we will forward you over an invoice. The 50% deposit can then be paid by bank transfer or over the phone using a card. The remaining 50% will be due a few days before we deliver your order.
Q: “How long will it take to receive my order?”
A: Our current turn around time is up to 12 weeks for everything that isn't listed on the in stock page, but check in with us before you order for a more accurate time frame.
Q: “Can you paint my order?”
A: We are no longer offering a painting service, everything we supply and send out is unpainted so you have a blank canvas to work with.
Q: “Do you have a showroom?”
A: You can book a time slot to view the products being made in our factory, which covers most items. Visits are available Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am - 4pm - you just need to call or email us to book in so we can make sure someone is available to assist you.
Q: “Do you offer a design service and can you supply us with plans?”
A: We are able to supply you with full 3D visuals of your order complete with all of your sizes- but only after we have received your order.
Q: “Can I make changes to my order?”
A: Yes! You can make as many changes as needed from the point of order - point of receiving your sketches. After you have confirmed everything on your sketches, we will ask if there are any further changes needed or if you are happy for us to put your order into production. Once the order is in production, no further changes can be made - but you are notified before we begin working on the order.
Q: “Are the kitchen units fully assembled or flat packed?”
A: We are unable to offer a flat pack service, everything arrives fully assembled.
Q: “Can you explain the difference between your traditional range and overlay range?”
A: Of course! They are two completely different styles so I will leave a brief overview below for you. Our overlay range is the cheapest, but both ranges are made from the same pine, to the same quality in the same factory.
Traditional range- this range has a 32mm front frame, shaker style doors sit within this to create an in-frame style cabinet. This range has a built in kick plinth and run directly to the floor meaning it works the best with level, flat flooring. We do fit the doors for you with the traditional range, you just tell us what side you would like the doors hung and soft close doors are an optional upgrade for £15 per door. All shelves within cabinets are fully adjustable with the exception of larder units having a fixed divide at base unit height- you can opt to have this divide removed in order to store brooms, ironing boards or anything else tall.
The overlay range- this range has shaker style doors which overlap the front of all units, there is no built in frame around the doors giving all units an overlay design. We supply all doors to this range loose, you will either need to fit them yourself or hire a fitter to fit them for you - but we do supply you with all of the screws, plates and hinges needed to complete the job. This range is also designed to sit on plastic adjustable feet which means they are perfect for slightly uneven flooring, again we supply these loose for you or a fitter to fit but we do provide all adjustable feet, screws and plinth clips for you. We are able to supply a kick plinth for this range to hide the plastic feet for £12 per 2m, this is not listed on the website so you will need to either call us or email us to add this to your order. Soft close doors are standard with this range. All shelves are adjustable with the exception that larder units have a fixed divide at base unit height that can be removed if requested.
If you would like any further information regarding the differences, please contact us.
Q: “Do your wall units come with brackets to fix them to the wall?”
A. No, no brackets are needed. You can fix them to the wall with screws running directly through the top and bottom rail
Q: “Can you fit kitchens?”
A. No, we are supply only. You will need to find your own kitchen fitter.
Q: “Can you deliver my order or will i need to collect it?”
A. We can offer delivery to anywhere mainland UK. See our delivery page for prices or get in touch with your post code so we can advise you on delivery costs.
Q: “Do you offer trade discounts?”
A. I am afraid we don't! We keep our prices as fair as possible and are unable to offer further discounts.
Q: “Can you come out and measure?”
A. We are unable to offer a measuring service. We are able to provide you with 3D visuals of your order for you to size check, and we will be able to amend the order for you before the point of production if any changes are needed once you have checked if it fits.
Q: “Can I discuss my kitchen plans with someone?”
A. Yes, send them through - we can quote on these so long as the sizes are listed.
Q: “Can you make me something bespoke?”
A. Absolutely, we are able to offer fully bespoke sizes or individual pieces. The best thing to do is to email us a sketch along with dimensions of what you are looking for, we can then offer you a price.
Q: “My flooring isn't level, can I still use your kitchen cabinets?”
A. Of course you can, I would personally recommend our overlay range or our in-frame adjustable range since both of these sit on plastic feet which can be easily adjusted to counteract uneven flooring.
Q: “Do your units allow for pipework or is this something I need to figure out?”
A. All base units and larder units have a 70mm void space to the rear to allow space for things like pipework.
Q: “Are your kitchens solid pine?”
A. All of our units are solid pine including the backs of the units and drawer boxes. The cabinet is made from 18mm thick pine and the backs are tongue & groove which is 9mm thick. The drawer boxes are 18mm thick and the bases are tongue & groove which is 9mm thick. The doors of the units are made from a 21mm thick shaker panel with a 9mm thick internal panel.
Q: “Can you check my sizes for me?”
A. Yes, of course! Send us all of the info that you have over by email and leave your contact number - we will be in touch!
Q: “Do you have a finance option?”
A. We don't but we do have alternative options such as a 50% deposit scheme and a pay in instalments scheme - both of which requires the balance to be paid before delivery. Send us an email to see if we can further assist.
Q: “Can you ship to France?”
A. Many of our kitchens and utilities have actually gone over to France but no, we aren't able to delivery anywhere other than mainland UK. We can however deliver to a port if this helps and we can also work with you so that you can arrange a courier to collect from us and deliver to France for you.
Q: “Do we need a kitchen fitter?”
A. We always recommend one, especially if you have never fitted a kitchen before- but we have had many of customers over the years who have fitted themselves without the help of a fitter.
Q: “Is your company new, I have never seen your work before?”
A. No, we have just celebrated our 28th birthday! We are a busy, family run business providing solid, handmade pine kitchens to the whole of the UK.
Q: “What is the most popular kitchen range?”
A. Traditional for sure, followed closely by our overlay range.
Q: “I would like to speak with someone about ordering a new kitchen, what do I do?”
A. You can send us an email or give us a call, we are happy to help!
We hope we have covered most questions above but if you would like to know anymore please contact us
